Ready for a new life

Wonder Lake, IL

Here I sit pondering a new life. It's my second to last day at work and I'll be leaving for a grand adventure. I'm transitioning from an accomplished pharmaceutical operations supervisor to being an un-employed traveling bum. It's so exciting, I can't wait...

Holy crap it's been two weeks.

dIt's been a while since I've entered anything and quite frankly there is no reason why I haven't been able to make time. Let me get something out of the way now. I'm not a blogger. I' not a computer savvy guy. I slapped this website together so that our friends and family could track us as we travel around the country. There are those of you have supported us through everything, and we thank you. There are those of you who have doubted us and turned your backs towards our love. So I want to specifically address the people out there who are the haters. Piss off.

Alrighty, so let's recap the last two weeks and I'll start to update this thing a bit more regularly. My first day off was officially May 2nd. We had a dog with us for the last 7 years that has grown to be part of the family. He couldn't catch his breath. Weak, weezy, and tired I took him into the vet. Lung cancer. May 3rd was my second day of our new lifestyle and we had to put him down. What a horrific start to our journey. Fast forward a week and we have realized just how much of our planning revolved around a 13 year old dog that was just 20 lbs. We made sure we bought an RV that he could walk up this steps into. We bought a jeep cherokee that was the stock ride height so he could scamper in without any help. Even the little things for our trip were tailored for him and we didn't even know it.  Vincent my friend, you will be missed.
Moving forward there was work to be done on the house. The only way for this trip to happen is if we sell another housed (yeah, this is our 3rd). This little gem of a place is 480 sq ft. Think of it as a shack built in the 40's that was never meant to be a full time home. Bad roof, wood windows, rotten sill plates... perfect. We fixed it up in about 8 months and listed it for sale May 8th, 2017. An offer arrived in about 12 hours. Sold. Hell yes.

A weekend relaxed

I'm not used to sitting around. It seems like such a waste of time to me. There is always work to be done and things to accomplish. The beginning of this week I was at the old man's house dropping off a little tractor for yardwork and bringing my trailer home. I've got it stuck in my head that I will somehow miraculously pick up a 5,000 lb shipping container and put it on a trailer that is too narrow. I like a challenge regardless of how stupid it is. Trust me, I know stupid.
The rest of the week was getting the house ready to go up for sale on the market and the home inspection on Friday. We had bought a jeep to pull behind our motorhome... whoa. Wait a minute. It just occurred to me that not every reading this realized that what this grand adventure is. This may take minute to explain but I'll give you guys the super short version so not to confuse our readers.
