Katie has chocked the calendar full of events for us to attend this month. There's no point in being in the city if we just sit at the RV park. First thing on the list is a free lecture at Orpheum Theatre by Kevin O'Leary. He's the bald no bull crap guy from shark tank.
The theater is a nice place to be. It has a real old timey feel and the ambiance is wonderful. Constructed in 1927, this place was remodeled in 1984 to the tune of 14 million dollars.
What was supposed to be a lecture on finance and guidance turned into a hardcore scam for our money. The first guests were a couple of guys from HGTV that bought crap rentals and made money at fixing them up and renting them out for more. The next guy that came out was Wayne Gray. Never heard of him? Neither had we. He then commenced to waste an hour and a half of our time trying to sell us his company Response Marketing Group. This magic 8 ball of a company will help you buy a house below market value, fund the purchase 100%, and pocket you 20 grand on every sale. No catch. The only thing needed to get started was $1,000 dollars to attend the 3 day seminar so they could show you how to do it. Then once you are there they spend three days trying to sell you the next investment package that is in the tens of thousands of dollars. This was a real let down.
So Mr. Wonderful finally shows ups and sticks around for 45 minutes to tell the audience the very basics of investing.
Invest your money instead of spending it
Diversify your investments
Live off of dividends and not principle when you can
Gee thanks. Turns out Kevin O'Leary isn't Mr Wonderful at all. He's Mr. Piece O'Crap. He knowingly uses his names to get people to waste thousands of dollars on a shady program that will most likely never work for the investor so he can get a kickback. What a scumbag.
