Day 184
Hernando FL- Bearhead Hammock Primitive Camping

Katie and I both have a certain set of things we do when getting ready to leave a spot. Each having our routine tasks allows us to leave quickly and efficiently from one camping destination to the next. This time it was shaken up a bit. A lady out walking her dog approached us on our way to the dumpster to talk about the campground. We then chit chatted for a bit about where they should park for the best solar. I offered up our spot since we planned on leaving in few minutes.
When we got back from the dumpsters she was still standing there and said "I want to buy you trek". After some initial shock, I let her know we did indeed plan on selling it after our travels. She turned out to be quite serious. She went and got her husband and the two of them spent the next 30 minutes asking questions and taking a tour of Penny. She took a bunch of pictures and we exchanged information. It's nice to know that somebody else appreciates all the work we've done to make this motor home nice. With all the excitement aside we head out down the road for the next place to stay. Forty five minutes of driving brings us to our new home.

Free places to camp were too hard to find this week. Right now spring break is in full swing. It's also Daytona Bike week, which is taking up all the camping spots on east side of Florida. What I was able to find is this small trail-head with three designated sites for equestrian/trailers/RV's. It costs $12 a night to park in the grass. No amenities here, just the beautiful outdoors at your doorstep.

The road is a one way loop which gets damn narrow. It's already too late to turn back as we plunk our way through. Low hanging branches scrape the sides of Penny and it makes me wince. Oh my beautiful paint, I'm so sorry. We should have gotten out to scout the sites before driving in.

Penny gets parked into place and we set up camp. The next three days will be spent here. Hopefully we won't be doing much. A lot of the last two weeks has been traveling and planning. It would be nice to wake up tomorrow without a need to go anywhere at all.
