Apostle Island National Park- Meyer's Beach, Bayfield WI
The harbor master was not amused. "Where are your life jackets? Where are your wet suits" he inquired. Sir Kenny of nomadic america was in no mood for the questioning proposed by the young lad. His quick witted response struck the young harbor master with a sting. "Our life jackets are in our chariot, and wet suits we have none. For we are experienced kayakers and do not necessitate the use of such devices". The harbor master was mystified. His tone changed from to concerned to worried. " These kayaks are not suitable for these waters. They are not enclosed vessels, and you are ill prepared". Sir Kenny scoffed " For we have no fear! Step aside young man. There is exploring to be done and we shall not be postponed by your questioning any further." Sir Kenny and Queen Katie entered the water and voyaged out to the Apostle Island National park mainland caves. Small rolling water was no match for their determination to go where others dare venture. After an arduous paddle of some 1 nautical mile, they witnessed the awe of mother nature.
