The whole point of the crappy RV park was so we could turn the air on during the day for the animals. We've got 4 animals with us and they've got too stay somewhat cool. Now before you go judgin', let me tell you we are not totally nutty people. It's not like we sat at home and said " Let's get 4 animals for the trip!" followed by maniacal laughter. We had these guys and then the idea of the trip came up. I voted to get rid of two of them. Katie voted for me to keep my mouth shut and keep them all. Guess who won?

Anywho, we roll out in Shirley bright and early to go see Teddy's park. I'm not going to bore you with stats and figures about anywhere we go. There are plenty of good places for you to find that. This is a commentary, an opinion page if you will. This place wasn't created by Teddy, but created to honor the man. After strolling through the visitor center and reading up on this guy I had a realization. Teddy Roosevelt was a real bad ass dude. He's got my respect for the things he's done. In fact, makes me feel kind of useless that my life hasn't added up to a fraction of what he did. Wait for it..... I'm over it. So we drive Shirley though some cool looking dirt canyons and do a little bit of hiking.

We did some short hikes because of the heat. Today was a balmy 97° ( see that cool degree symbol? Yeah, I did that) The 36 mile scenic drive loop was cool. Glad we made the stop.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a scorcher. High temp of 100° in the early afternoon. We are going to take the gamble and leave early in the morning. This should give Roo some cool air and a chance to make up some ground. We want to be in Alaska by the end of July, but there are a few more stops on the way. We have our camping spots picked out and don't plan on paying for a place to stay for a few days. Tomorrow we will run the generator and hope it doesn't overheat in the hot weather while running our AC units. Toodles, ta-ta, see you later.
