Today
Day 227-228The last two days have been a bland mix of nothingness and little excitement. I finally snagged some construction books from goodwill and katie got her fix. She's kind of like a smoker who just has to have one last cigarette, except she needs to go look at outfits and touch stuff all the while knowing full well she can't buy anything. Our budget is tight and the RV has very limited space. The rest of the time is doing what we do best. Looking for adventure. Today it comes in the form of baby geese. The rest of our day is filled with walking the old man around the park. He is doing much better. We think it is something with his back. It seems the last couple of times he wasn't able to walk it was caused by him snapping around to see something that made a noise. He's old, and he throws his back out. It's part of life and we will work around it. Whenever Eli isn't with us we are walking the trails on our own. Day 228 kept us in the RV for most of the daylight hours. A strong and swift storm came through the area which threatened our little home on wheels. The clouds came in and the rain started to fall. Winds whipped up and the trees started to bend overhead. Slowly the storm split and dissolved in our area. We were spared the tornadoes to the west and hail to the south. Disappointment filled my heart. I was looking for excitement. Thunder and lightning, loud noises from the heavens. Instead I turned towards my cat socks and her expression captured the mood perfectly. Another night on the road.
