T-Dub got an update before heading back out on the road for phase 2 of trip #2. It will see a lot more city use in the months to come and we need a way to carry around our stuff. I scoured the internet for a rack and came up with only a couple of options. The more expensive one is from cycleracks, which has a carrier for $200. It is tubular and has good reviews from it's users. Option #2 was a rack I found made by Tusk Industries. I ended ordering it for $120 including shipping.
It's well built and bolted to the bike without a problem. I really like the flat surface compared to the tubular design also. Hauling things will be much easier than trying to make sure it doesn't fall through the bars. At first glance the instructions seemed overwhelming, but it is really a well detailed list of every single thing that needs to be done. The fit and finish seem to be of a good quality. Only time will time. I'm looking forward to hauling around some cool stuff for our future explorations.
